Forza Graphics VS Forza Audio

The other day I was browsing the Forza Horizon subreddit and stumbled upon a post detailing the differences between Forza Horizon 4 graphics to Forza Horizon 4 car audio.

I laughed at first because of the image. Then I took a deeper look to see what people were saying and I found some interesting insights. A large majority agreed the engine sounds in Forza Horizon 4 are not up to par with other racing games. Many complained how lazy the car sounds are versus how gorgeous the game looks. How can a game be so beautiful, yet sound, so horrible is what one fan commented. One response points at a time where Forza Horizon's engine sounds were superb. It’s a shame because back in the day the sounds were the best on the market, it was their original trump card over gran turismo. I have to agree with these statements. There was once a time where Forza Horizon's engine sounds were outstanding.

My first experience with Forza Horizon's game was astounding. It was the original Forza Horizon that released back in 2012. I remember the Pagani Zonda R and how beautiful that engine sounded. The naturally aspirated 6.0L V12 screaming at 8,000 RPM was intoxicating. I couldn’t get enough of it. I would spend my afternoons driving the Zonda R around the map at full volume on my TV. Listening to that V12 became therapeutic. I'd forget all my problems and be consumed by the sound of that V12. I was having the time of my life hitting redline, downshifting, going full throttle, and listening to the car as it was climbing the RPM’s. Next thing you know it, it’s already time for dinner. That was the enjoyment I got from Forza Horizon. The love of how the cars sounded.

Now, the engine sounds aren’t as good as I once remembered. It feels like the game spent much of it’s time on the graphics and neglected the car sounds. That made me sad given how much enjoyment I got from the original Forza Horizon’s engine sounds. I know I’m not the only one with this opinion. Many fans wish the engine sounds in Forza Horizon 4 could be just as good as the previous Horizon games.

I want to make that wish come true. I want to come in and fix the way cars sound in Forza Horizon. I want to make the cars sound just as good, if not better, to previous Forza Horizon games. I want to relive that moment where I’d sit back, select the Pagani Zonda R, and cruise throughout the entire map listening to that marvelous V12 engine.
